your online guide to meeting today's young celebrities

There are tons of movie premieres scheduled for May!

Premieres are a fun way to see stars in person. Some theaters are more “fan friendly” than others. There are several ways to increase your odds of meeting a celebrity and possibly getting a selfie or autograph. The main cast of the movie might have no time to meet fans and be taken by limo straight to the red carpet and press line but production companies often invite celebs from TV and other movies to attend the premiere. These stars are there for press and to promote their new projects. They often make time to meet with fans.

My Tips to Meet Stars at Premieres

1. Go as early as possible. Most premieres are in the evenings although some kid’s movie premieres might be on a weekend day. Try to get there 2-3 hours earlier.

2. Check with security and ask where fans are allowed to wait. Try to get close to the carpet or VIP check in area. The last thing you want is to camp out at a spot and then be told you have to move!

3. Check with the social media sites for the theater, movie, or radio stations who might be promoting the movie. They might have contests for fans to win tickets!

4. Bring something interesting to get the celebs’ attention: Maybe a movie poster or prop. If the celeb can only sigh a few autographs yours might catch their eye!

5. Call them by their real names, not character names.

6. Keep it short and sweet! Let fans around you get a chance to meet the celeb too.

7. Thank the celeb for taking time to meet you!

8. If you really want to meet celebs but didn’t before the movie, hang out till after. Often After Parties are planned close by and celebs walk from the theater to the party. You might get a chance then.

Ok, now that you know how to increase your chances, here’s the premieres happening in May.
