On 11/23/11 we were on the floor at a Katy Perry concert at the Staples Center in LA, California!
There were 14,000 people and huge cameras swinging around filming everything for Special DVD! Katy Perry was right over our heads on a cloud of pink cotton candy playing a guitar, tossing guitar picks, and singing!
How did this happen? You ask … OK, maybe you didn’t but anyway here’s how it happened!
Katy Perry and her band have been touring on the California Dream Tour!
The last official day would have been November 22, 2011. Katy wanted to have a special show for her fans and it was going to be free! She announced it on her FaceBook Page ( everyone Be Friends with your favorite artists and check in for surprises like this)
She finally gave out a code word and 125,000 tried to get the 14,000 tickets that were available. Local Radio stations were also giving tickets out as Prizes.
We didn’t get them on Facebook or win them even though we tried. We thought we might be able to find some online but the day of the concert got close. One of our Twitter friends named Nellie DMd us “Do you and your mom want to go to the Katy Perry concert?”
Of course, I said “yes”.
We weren’t sure it would really work put but when we got to the Staples Center, she, her friends, and her parents! Thanks SO SO much Nellie and your friends and mom and Dad!!!
Some of the fans waiting in line were dressed up in puffy skirts, blue or pink wigs, or like the Terry the dorky girl in Last Friday Night or weird things like a banana or dinosaur.
We bought a t shirt and took pics by the big banners.

When we got in the place smelled like cotton candy. We had really high seats in the 300′s. We were just happy to be there but noticed empty seats down low. Nellie and her friends went to see if they get better seats and a few minutes later we did too. We saw a group of people and checked it out. Workers were passing out wristbands for the FLOOR!
Finally, the concert started. It was so cool. There was a video story about working for a creepy butcher, then her kitty ran away and she went looking for it! Then the concert started and it was amazing!
There were so many special effects, lasers, lights, fog, foam, confetti and of course, even fireworks.
During Waking up in Vegas she and her dancers threw out special Katy Perry coins.
During her song on the cotton candy cloud she tossed out about 10 guitar picks!
During one song she changed clothes like magically 10-15 times! That was crazy!!
During one song she brought up a bunch of the people who dressed in costumes!! So cool!!
After the concert, we asked a worker for her playlist and she smiled and gave it to me!
So that’s my story about how I got to be on the floor with Katy Perry singing a song over my head!!
When the DVD comes our, comes out you are gonna love it!
