Cody Simpson performs and helps Teens For Jeans Launch in Hollywood

On January 10, Cody Simpson performed at the DoSomething.org and Aeropostale launch the fifth-annual ‘Teens for Jeans’ campaign on Tuesday, along with a ton of celebrities.

Cody Simpson, Booboo Stewart, Josie Loren, Kirsten Bell, Sasha Pieterse, Brendan Robinson and more also attended the star-studded event at Palifest in West Hollywood, Calif., collecting jeans for a local L.A. homeless shelter. The stars also included letters, photos and videos with words of encouragement.

Guests were encouraged to pack donated jeans, write letters to teens and record words of encouragement.

Snacks and refreshments were served and guests received specially designed T-Shirts.

Cody sang 2 songs to the small crowd. He sang Angel then Ay yi yi. Then the crowd sang Happy Birthday to him since his birthday was the next day.

Cody’s parents Brad and Angie, sister, Alli, brother, Tom and friend, Jake were there as well. It was fun seeing Cody in a relaxed environment and I think it’s cool that this busy super star donated his time to help homeless teens at this worthy charity!

Teens are encouraged to donate jeans to donate to homeless youth. Top schools can win prizes.

Jordan Van Vranken’s Charity Event for Kids with Cancer

Jordan Van Vranken is a beautiful, healthy teenager who is an actress and performer living in Southern California.
A school mate she knew was diagnosed with cancer and went into remission. However, another child at her school who also had cancer wasn’t as fortunate and passed away.
Jordan was determined to make a difference for kids with cancer and their families!
On January 15, she hosted a charity event at a bowling alley, Corbin Bowl, in the San Fernando Valley.

Guests were encouraged to donate money to bowl, buy raffle tickets, and specially designed T shirts.
Local businesses like Sky High, Soups, and Forever 21, donated prizes.

Celebrity guests included Tiffany Espensen, Noah Cyrus, Zach Calliston, Joey Luthman, and Justin Inucci among others.

It was a great turnout and Jordan plans on donating all the money to the Ronald McDonald House. Families of sick children stay in these homes near hospitals so they can be near their children as they get the life saving treatment they need!

I think it was really great of Jordan and her celebrity friends to take time out of their busy schedules for kids struggling with life threatening illnesses.

Ryan Potter’s Toy Box of Hope

December, 17th at the Chick Fil A in Northridge several celebrities met with fans at a toy drive. Ryan Potter from Supah Ninjas organized the event and had some of his Nickelodeon stars come out to meet fans and collect toys for needy kids.

Selena Gomez visits girl with fatal disease

Ryan Seacrest is the host of a radio show on KIIS 102.7. He also hosts and produces many other shows. He has a heart for children’s charities and has created radio stations at Children’s Hospitals to cheer kids up. At holiday time he has a special program called KIISmas giving. People nominate deserving families. Ryan picks some out and helps them with gifts, money, pays bills, trips to Disneyland, whatever he thinks might help the family have a great holiday.

On December 12, Ryan selected a family Sara nominated. Hana is a little girl with Progeria. This disease is so rare that only 10 kids in the US have it and so deadly that most kids die before they are 13. Hana just turned 13 in September. Ryan got the family Kindles and money.

As Ryan was talking to the mom and Hana’s tutor Sara, he learned Hana is a huge Selena Gomez fan. She listens to Who Says on her iPod on repeat during treatments.
Ryan told the family he would call Selena’s step dad and try to get Selena, who is busy recorded and doing concerts to call Hana at the hospital.
Ryan got in touch with Selena and she immediately left the recording studio to meet Hana. The visit was such a surprise to Hana that she almost couldn’t think of what to day to her idol!
As soon as her visit was over Selena flew to her next concert.

I’m so happy to tell people this story because Selena has haters and she shouldn’t. This story shows that Selena has a huge heart and cares about each fan!

My friend Caley has Cystic Fibrosis. That’s a disease that affects her lungs mostly but makes her sick a lot! She has to have treatments, medicine and go to the hospital A LOT! Her birthday is coming up and her family and I want to make her birthday wish come true!

Dreamagazine is having a winter party 12/5/11 and Caley wants to come down with her family! Times are a little tough so Caley’s mom kinda joked in Twitter let’s get Caley to LA send a donation.

Well my mom and I think that with tons of awesome people on Twitter with kind hearts we can totally make this happen!

The thing about Caley is she is only healthy some of the time — if we just say let’s wait for another party another time — she might be too sick!

Hollywood Knights vs Mater Dei

On November 18, 2011 the Hollywood Knights took on the staff of Mater Dei in Orange County, California. The school gym was really nice and the crowd was so excited to see their teachers play against celebrities!

The Hollywood Knights is a team
of celebrities who play against local Southern California schools as a fundraiser for the schools programs. Tickets usually cost $8-$10
And there is a half time performance and meet and greet with the celebrities!
KIIS 102.7 comes out and keeps the crowd happy with music, give aways, and dancing! James Jefferson’s high energy is so fun!

The school’s cheerleaders and other students come out and help with crowd control, escorting celebs and after the school has a space for the after party so the celebs and the students who worked at the event can wind down and have some great food!!

I think the Hollywood Knights lost this game but it’s ok! I had a great time and I think the school raised a lot of money.

End Malaria Now Event 11/21/11

On 11/21/11 We attended a charity event benefitting End Malaria Now.
It was at Cafe Entourage in Hollywood.
8 year old Madison Moellers who co-starred on CBS’ ‘Rules of Engagement’ and hit it off with the series stars, David Spade, Patrick Warburton, and Sara Rue, and Patrick Warburton co hosted the event!

Madison Moellers had seen the feature film, ‘The First Grader,’ and learned that an astounding number of people dying from Malaria each year, largely pregnant mothers, and children under 5 years old.

Malaria is a disease that kills but can be prevented by providing families with $10 nets to be put around beds as people sleep protecting them from being bitten by mosquito who carry the disease!

Celebrities including Rowan Blanchard, Kenton Duty, and Leon Thomas lll and other caring people came out, walked the red carpet and enjoyed refreshments.

I hope a lot of Monet was raised and a lot of lives will be saved! I’m proud that I helped.

On May 22, 2011, Dremagazine had their summer kick off! The money raised went to Caley Camarillo, A brave 9 yr old girl who is battling cystic fibrosis, a disease affected her lungs! Caley was amazing. Her family was all there to show their love and support. Caley even made the interns at Dreamagazine bracelets. Her sister and she both gave speeches thanking everyone who cam out!
Several stars attended the event, walked the red carpet, and had fun with a raffle and checking out all the snacks donated by sponsors. There was even a company cooking mini donuts for us all.
Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato donated signed pictures and I won them!!
I was working at the event as a reporter for Dreamagazine! I got to interview and talk with many stars!!!
After I got pics, enjoyed the goodies, and at the raffle I won a bunch of prizes!! I even got a VIP bag at the end.

Lollipop Theater Game Day

WOW!! on May 7, 2011, we went to Lollipop Theater Game Day at the Nickelodeon studios in Burbank California. Lollipop Theater is an amazing organization that brings movie premieres and actors/actresses to children’s hospitals!! Tim Allen, Kaley Cuoco, Steve Carrell, Billy Bush are some huge stars that support Lollipop Theater. Once a year, they have Game Day and tons of stars, sponsors, and press come and have a huge event! There was even a silent auction and I won an iPod. There were giant sized games like Candyland and Jenga.
There was lots of food, a Kung Fu 2 photo booth, cupcake decorating, colored sand boxes and lots of Nick characters. They even made personalized notebooks SO COOL!
Some of my friends won tickets and came. I know a bunch of the press that were there and a bunch of celebs knew me already. I even met new celebs I’ve been hoping to meet for a long time.
It was a super fun, busy 4 hours and I can’t wait to go back next year!
