Premieres are a fun, free way to meet celebrities. Lots of premieres are happening in LA in August so I thought I’d put this blog together.
Fans are usually allowed to line up near the red carpet and lucky ones will be able to get autographs and pictures. There are no guarantees and you don’t get to see the movie.
Premieres are a chance for the stars of the movie to walk the red carpet and promote the movie with the press who
are invited. Often, movie studios invite other celebrities to watch the red carpet and watch the movie as well. There are also families of the cast and crew and even contest winners who will attend a premiere.
Some theaters are more fan friendly than others. From personal experience the El Capitan is the most fan friendly meaning there is lots of space for fans to line up where celebrities can pose for pics and sign autographs. The Chinese Theater is the least Fan Friendly.
Tips:
1. Go Early
2. Get close to the Red Carpet
3. Bring Something interesting to get signed. Something tied to the movie.
4. Don’t leave your spot or you’ll lose it.
5. Have a fresh Sharpie, fresh batteries/ charged phone.
6. Keep positive/be friendly don’t expect to meet each and every star especially the stars of the movie. They may be rushed by their publicists straight to the carpet and press.
7. You may be able to meet celebrities AFTER the movie on their way to an after party.

8/15 premiere The Expendables 2, Liam Hemsworth, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, and Chuck Norris Chinese Theatre
8/28 6:30 premiere – The Possession, starring Kyra Sedgwick, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Grant Show, ArcLight Cinerama Dome
